While it’s not the full retreat on internet censorship that just went down in Poland, Indonesia’s Communications and Information Technology Minister Tifatul Sembirin has implemented a ‘cool-down period’ to analyze negative public reaction to his planned bill to monitor internet content. The bill, which ostensibly seeks to protect citizens from the usual suspects of gambling and pornography, has met with organized pushback from civil libertarians and opposition parties. Read more.
