While casino-style games are illegal in Brazil, poker has survived the regulations. However, as Brazil doesn’t have any casinos, commercial poker has always been hard to find. Until recently that is. Now poker “associations” have started to pop up around the country along with major tournaments such as the Brazilian Series of Poker. Large international tournaments like the Latin American Poker Tour have also begun to stop in the country as Brazil becomes a major force in the Latin American poker scene.
