Dr Ivan Mindlin, a respected surgeon living in Las Vegas, was the unsuspecting face at the helm of one of the world’s most infamous sports betting rings & the most successful of its time.
In the early 1980s, Michael Kent and Doc Mindlin formed “The Computer Group” and were the first to utilise computer programming in sports betting, or at least the first to do so with any great success.
Starting as a casual sports bettor, Mindlin led “The Computer Group” to achieving profits in excess of $1 Million per week in an operation that spread the length & breadth of the USA. This great success garnered unwanted attention from the FBI and ultimately led to its downfall despite operating within the law.
