After bringing a new product to the table earlier this month with 1Bet, betting exchange operator Betdaq has signed a one season sponsorship and betting partnership with London Irish Rugby Club for the upcoming season.
Under the terms of the new agreement, the Betdaq brand will be displayed on the back of London Irish team shirts for all Aviva Premiership games and Heineken Cup matches, as well at the Madejski Stadium’s touchline LED boards, big screen and throughout concourse areas. Betdaq will also serve as the official betting and gaming partner of London Irish, providing bespoke offers and best odds on team matches and also supplying content to the club’s website.
Betdaq marketing director Shane McLaughlin said in the release, “Our sponsorship of London Irish will help us reach new audiences in a growing market…The rugby club has a very large supporter base worldwide and there are a number of similarities between the brands, not least the Irish connection. The imminent timing of the Rugby World Cup makes this agreement particularly exciting.”
Richard Marsh, commercial director of London Irish, said in the release, “Through this partnership we are looking forward to working with Shane and his team on engaging with our supporter base in new and innovative ways…We are extremely proud to be Betdaq’s first investment in rugby. The strength of the club’s profile and its ambition has stood us in good stead in attracting new money to the sport in the build up to this coming season.”
