North Carolina lawmakers approve sweepstake cafe crackdown

Never mind that they are mired in the worst recession since World War II or that the state could generate $576 million annually if lawmakers legalized and regulated video poker machines or that banning sweepstakes cafes will see 600 businesses in the state go out of business, those wise men of the North Carolina Senate have voted by 47-1 to approve legislation to shut down hundreds of these new sweepstake centres.
