The Story

The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) reported that it reached the $1b mark for its casino gaming revenue in May, thanks to table gains from baccarat and sports betting in basketball and baseball.

Nevada wants to forget what happened in April.

The NGCB said that statewide casino gaming revenue reached $1.04b, a 5.3% increase from the same month last year and a rebound from April 2018’s $953.7m. Table gains were driven by baccarat, which shot up nearly one-fifth to $120.8m. On the other hand, state’s licensed sportsbooks netted just under $20.5m, composed mainly by betting revenues from baseball at $10.8m and basketball at $9.3m.
