The Story

United Kingdom’s national competition watchdog has released the results of its investigation into the “unfair” promotional offers of some online gambling operators, warning that non-compliance with its new rules would result in dire consequences.

3 online gambling operators have vowed to change their ways.

William Hill, Ladbrokes, and Playtech had “formally committed to change the way they offer bonus promotions,” according to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). Specifically, the operators vowed that their players will no longer be required to play multiple times before they can withdraw their money; they will not cite vague conditions to get their players’ money; and they will not force players to be part of publicity campaigns. Operators are expected to comply with the CMA’s new code of conduct by February 28.
