Outside of Nevada the jurisdiction that takes more money in casino gaming than any other in the entire United States is the amalgamation between Louisiana and Mississippi. Recognising this on a yearly basis is the Southern Gaming Summit, the 2011 edition taking place on May 4th and 5th in Biloxi, Mississippi.
The summit brings together everyone from all areas of the industry including executives and officials from all types of gaming operations such as racetracks, charitable gaming, commercial and tribal casinos, and racetrack casinos. Regulators and legislators from the industry will also be present, as well as local officials who will be able to give expert advice on the importance of the gaming and hospitality industries in the area. Lastly there will be a number of consultants and analysts who are constantly looking at the market in this area and how it’s changing on an almost daily basis.
This year will also sees the second year that the world’s largest bingo trade show is at the same site as the Southern Gaming Summit. Bingo World co-locates to Biloxi, Mississippi and is now into its 15th year, making the convention the largest gathering of gaming personnel outside of Las Vegas.
BNP Media Gaming Group are responsible for organising the event and are the largest and most experienced gaming industry media resource, and the leading producer of specialized conferences and expos. As a result they’ve organised conferences in New York, New England, and Florida as well as many other places around North America. The Southern Gaming Summit is also being produced in association with one of their publications, the Casino Journal, a valuable independent resource that serves every different gaming sector.
The exhibition floor at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum & Convention Center spans thousands of square feet of space and gives attendees excellent networking opportunities. Attendees already confirmed for this year include International Gaming Technology (IGT), Bally Technologies, Gametech, Konami, and Planet Bingo to name but a few. This all adds to efforts of the Mississippi Casino Operators Association who along with the earlier mentioned BNP Group do their best to put on this all important event.
All you need to do now is dig out your glad rags for the inevitable parties that will follow the day’s fesitivities. Oh yeah, and just because it’s in Biloxi, Mississippi, doesn’t mean we here at the tablog won’t be covering it in some capacity. If you drink too much and get a little over excited, you might end up on our site. You have been warned people!
