The 2011 North American Gaming Regulators Association (NAGRA) Annual Training & Education Symposium will take place on June 6 – 10, 2011 at the Loews Coronada Bay Hotel in San Diego, California.
The symposium will focus on topics such as advanced techniques for financial due diligence and licensing of gaming applicants, problem gambling around the world, cloud computing, the future of internet gaming and much more.
NAGRA will also include an informative “Member Update” session where each member reports on gaming experiences, judicial decisions, legislative changes, and any other gaming related matters that have recently occurred in member jurisdictions. NAGRA is a nonprofit professional association of gaming regulators throughout North America. The organization brings together agencies that regulate gaming activities and provides them a forum for the mutual exchange of regulatory information and techniques. Collecting and disseminating regulatory and enforcement information, procedures, and experiences from all jurisdictions provides on-going gaming education and training for all members.
Established in 1984, NAGRA is comprised of federal, state, local, tribal, and provincial government agencies that are responsible primarily for the regulation of legalized gaming activities. Typical games include bingo, pull-tabs, lotteries, raffles, and non-profit Las Vegas or Casino nights used by nonprofit organizations for fund raising purposes.
NAGRA has also responded to the increased growth in gaming by expanding its scope to include regulatory concerns involving Indian gaming, riverboat gaming, casino and video gaming, pari-mutuel wagering and other activities that are of interest to its member agencies.
