The Eastern seaboard of the USA has long been one of the two destinations you associate with casino gaming in the country due to the presence of New Jersey’s gambling haven of Atlantic City. It’s probably no surprise that the venue for the 15th annual East Coast Gaming Congress (ECGC) is the city’s convention centre from May 23rd to 24th 2011.
The tagline for this year’s event is “Confronting the Future of Gaming: Acting and Reacting in Dynamic Markets” and will examine how times are changing for the entire industry and how best prepare ourselves for what the future holds. The event is organised by the Spectrum Gaming Group, Cooper Levinson Solicitors, Chapdelaine Credit Partners, and SOSH Architects, who have worked together to ensure the event runs as smoothly as it always does.
This is a conference, which is why we’re covering the event – after all, it’s what we do. So expect to see coverage on the tablog, maybe even a camera crew, and if you’re lucky some Ayre Heads might even turn up.
For the 15 years it has been in existence, the ECGC has prided itself on inviting only those figures in the industry that are leaders and have been so for a number of years. ECGC also look that these dignitaries share their visions and concerns for the future of the industry.
Amongst the 600 attendees, there will be many opportunities to network and the ECGC is designed so that attendees can meet those who will lead the way into the future of gaming. It will also give people a chance to meet those who will help chart the industry’s future, learn where their competitors are heading, and determine where their organization needs to be.
Last year’s congress began with a cocktail reception at the world renowned Caesar’s Atlantic City, before the event proper began at the ungodly hour of 7:30 the next morning. Registration and breakfast was then followed by welcome remarks from key members of the New Jersey hierarchy.
Presentations and round tables took place throughout the day on all manner of subjects. Anything from Wall Street and the current state of Atlantic City to CEOs of a number of companies talking about how they’re getting on were discussed in the presence of the leading names in gaming.
Exhibitors at past editions of the event have included the New Jersey Casino Control Commission, Global Cash Access, and the Casino Career Institute. This added to the already stellar line-up of speakers including delegates from Harrah’s, Trump Entertainment Resorts, and the Tribal Gaming Authority to name but a few, makes it an exhibition you really can’t miss.
So if a cocktail party followed by a day’s listening to a who’s who in the East coast casino sounds like your cup of tea get your ass over to Atlantic City next May.
