The gambling industry is known for many things, aside from drinkin, gambling and carryin on, we love to give back to charity. Poker players will have a special opportunity to give towards a very noble cause at the Pokerstars European Poker Tour Charity Event in London September 28 to October 5.
The re-entry charity tournament has a £100+10+10 buy-in and plus a guaranteed prize pool of £100,000. A total of £10 of every entry goes to Cancer Research UK and PokerStars graciously agreed to match both the £10 charity contribution and any additional donations made by players. Players can register by visitng the Pokerstars website and make contributions to the CancerUK directly from their PokerStars accounts.
Calvinayre.com was there for the star studded Ante Up for Africa charity event. The Ante Up for Africa featured some of the biggest names in poker and also featured some of your favorite celebrities every there, having fun, playing poker for a great cause. Needless to say, the event which was a complete success, helped raise more than €160,000 for those suffering in Africa. Certainly Pokerstars and the rest of the industry are hoping this event will be just as big as a success and raise money for the many out there suffering and dying from cancer.
