On February 28, a solemn awards ceremony was held at the “BR Awards 2019” in Moscow. This event was the first show organized as an independent event in relation with sport area in Russia, it gathered several celebrities including athletes, show stars, leaders of sport leagues and federations.
The winners were awarded their prize by the show host of the ceremony, Valdis Pelsh. The event was also moderated by Mikhail Schatz, Nobel Arustamyan and Maria Kommandnaya. Among the personalities invited were: Maria Kozhevnikova, Svetlana Khorkina, Rostislav Plechko, Ruslan Nigmatullin, Eugene Lovchev, Maria Anna Shurochkina Khudoyan, Yury Postrigay, Ekaterina Bychkova, Olga Zaitseva, Arthur Dalaloyan Nikita Alexander Klotchkov, Alla Shishkina, Vladimir Gomelsky, Emma Hajiyeva, Arthur Petrosyan, Yevgeny Muzhikov, Julia Kvin, Yulia Sharapova, Dmitry Kozhoma, Lina Dembikova as well as other famous athletes and celebrities. The evening ended with a live performance by Therr Maitz.
At the awards ceremony, the winners were announced in 10 nominations: “Grand Prix: Best Bookmaker” (“Liga Stavok”), “Brand Ambassador” (Nobel Arustamyan and Konstantin Genich, “Winline”), “The most reliable bookmaker” (“Marathon”), “Best Mobile App” (“Liga Stavok”), “Best eSport Bookmaker” (PariMatch), “Best Exclusive Online” according to the Media portal ODDS.ru (Tennisi), “Best media of the bookmaker” (“Championship”), “The best online bookmaker” (“PariMatch”), “The best customer service” (Betcity), “The best odds” ( “888.ru”).
In total, more than 15,000 people voted for the nominees for the first BR Awards 2019. A public vote accessible using Google was set up until February 18th. After this vote, the jury’s experts gave their verdict on the selection of the nominees. The members of the jury are: Paruyr Shahbazyan, the founder of the “Rating of Bookmakers” information and analysis portal, Rostislav Plechko, a Russian professional boxer who is also the associate director and organizer of the international sports trade forum “Forum of sport leaders “, Nikolay Oganezov who is the chairman of the subcommittee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation concerning all activities related to bookmakers, bets and draws.
