I think Suk Mike Hok’s talents are wasted on Live Dealer Casino games. I want to see him playing in the Monday night $11 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em event with the $5,000 guarantee.

A few weeks ago, PokerStars Team Pro, Lex Veldhuis, had a $22 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) event named in his honour after making the final table three times in a week while streaming live on Twitch.
The Lex Veldhuis Open was born.
The cogs of the blue sky thinkers starting whirring and a new promotion emerged. PokerStars offered to rename the event in anyone else’s honour as long as they could make the final table three times just like Veldhuis did. It was a resounding success with a 73% increase in participation.
If it can work in PLO then why not NLHE?
The $11 buy-in $5k Guaranteed event I was talking about drags in 500+ runners a week. Taking this into consideration, PokerStars have issued a challenge to people to try and make the final table twice in a week. If they do, then the event, currently called The Open, will be named after the winner.

Stian Knutsen Wins the UKIPT6 Super Series
The United Kingdom Poker Tour (UKIPT) has done a Pontius Pilate with London.
The £550 buy-in UKIPT6 Series took place at the Hippodrome. The event attracted 335 entrants, and there were 118 rebuys. It will be the final time the UKIPT will feature in the capital.
The £42,500 first prize went to the Norwegian Stian Knutsen after beating Dara O’Kearney in heads-up action. You may remember it was O’Kearney who recently penned a blog post talking about how crap the European Poker Tour (EPT) was.
The tour will now head to Birmingham Oct 5-9. It’s the first and last time the event will visit the second largest city in England. The UKIPT will retire after that event as the new PokerStars Championships and Festivals roll out across the globe.
