Day two of the Berlin Affiliate Conference 2015 felt just as busy as the first, with a buzzing expo floor and delegates coming in and out the doors from start to finish. In fact, the last two days here in Berlin have been phenomenal, with sunny weather, productive days and crazy nights.

Michael Caselli, one of the main figures behind the event, told CalvinAyre.com the vibe has been “electric” throughout BAC 2015 and said every time the event changes location there is a surge in the numbers of delegates. This year’s move to Berlin certainly proves his point and Caselli thinks Berlin was a great choice for a new host city due to its techy feel, active nightlife and affordability.

Caselli added there are hundreds of faces this year at BAC he does not recognize, a welcomed element to the event as new faces mean new business. There are plenty of others who have echoed this sentiment, so congratulations to iGaming Business for reaching out and attracting fresh blood into our world.

The BAC provides a wonderful opportunity for companies to show off their goods in the form of elaborate booths, but there is also a lot of value in attending as an individual and spreading the word about new products and ventures via the expo floor.

An example of one of these individuals is Hybrid Interaction’s Shahar Attias who has recently expanded his business to include a “Remote Office Services” offering.

“Since everybody always rave about the Israeli Affiliate Account Managers being uber-aggressive, getting lots of traffic, etc., I have decided to offer non-local companies the option to hire any number of Israeli experts, starting with even one,” Attias told CalvinAyre.com.

For a commission, Attias handles all the logistics and administrative issues such as salaries and benefits and provides a shared office space for the account managers. The BAC is home to a number of Israeli companies and delegates, so prospective clients are able to observe talent in action, Attias explained to CalvinAyre.com.

Marc Kenigsberg, a BAC speaker and online gambling industry veteran, was happy to take advantage of this event to educate attendees on his new Bitcoin venture. Kenigsberg is big believer in the potential of Bitcoin within the online gambling industry and far beyond, therefore he also sees a big opportunity for affiliates to expand their business.

Kenigsberg will be launching an affiliate program for Bitcoin casinos and other products shortly, something he encourages affiliates to get involved with now even though the iGaming industry as a whole views promoting Bitcoin related gambling products as “’premature.”

CalvinAyre.com also caught up with Gavin Walters, a well-known affiliate manager who has recently made the jump to iGaming operator. Walters is now managing ReelIsland.com and loving the new challenge while using all the knowledge he obtained and the contacts he gained from working on the affiliate management side and attending events like BAC.

Today’s affiliate facing sessions were focused on online marketing and SEO, attracting a healthy crowed throughout the majority of the day. Speaker Laurent Malka of Tracking Desk spoke on third party tracking technologies and why they provide an edge for every affiliate.

Malka pointed out plenty of affiliates don’t take the necessary measures to utilize their traffic properly. Some affiliates aren’t even using Google analytics for example, something Malka can’t understand because its essential to know what’s happening on your website.

“Traffic is your main asset, it’s the commodity you trade. The bottom line is you cannot afford not to track your traffic…there are tools available at low costs, so why not use them,” he said.

Malka went on to explain the five main points of traffic management:

1) ID & collect traffic data
2) distribute traffic wisely
3) collect & attribute conversions/revenues
4) aggregate reports ->insightful information
5) testing & optimization

He said the number one rule is all these five points must be perfectly interconnected. In order to do so, affiliates can take advantage of free or low-cost products such as LeadsPedia, instapage, segment.io, kissmetrics, intercom, crazyegg, unbounce, sitescout, hubspot, Google tag manager and Malka’s custom-built TrackingDesk.com, an operating system for affiliates.
