The United Kingdom and Ireland Poker Tour Season 5 2015 stops have been announced and it’s all aboard for Marbella, Bristol, Isle of Man and Edinburgh.
PokerStars have announced the remaining Season 5 2015 United Kingdom & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) stops, and Bristol is the surprise returnee.
This is the tale of the tape.
• Nottingham – Apr 12th-19th
• Marbella – Jun 15th-21st
• Bristol – Aug 6th-9th
• Isle of Man – Oct 1st-4th
• Edinburgh – Nov 19th-22nd
The next event is likely to be the biggest of the season. Rob Yong and his team will be busy pulling down their new partypoker wallpaper, and slapping some part-time PokerStars artwork on the walls.
The winner of the British Poker Award (BPA) for Best Live Card Room will host a £1m guarantee for the third year. They haven’t missed a guarantee yet. They won’t this year either. In Season 3, Robert Baguley walked away with £210,400, and in Season 4 Duncan McLellan did the same to the tune of £202,372.
The stars will be out for that one. If the £1,100 buy-in is a little steep then there is plenty of value in the £330 Nottingham Cup.
Marbella returns for its third year. Someone should hand the tournament organizer a world map. The Casino Marbella will be the home for that one. Last year was memorable after PokerStars decided to drop Dale ‘daleroxxu’ Philip after he was caught celebrating ‘excessively’ during the Holland v Spain World Cup match.
Bristol is the surprise inclusion. The Rainbow Casino inside Bristol’s harbourside will be the venue. The last time the UKIPT hit this part of the West Country Wojtek Barzantny won back-to-back UKIPT titles whilst wearing Huggy Bears jacket. That was back in Season 3.
The Isle of Man and Edinburgh finish off the fun. The tour visiting PokerStars HQ twice during Season 4, and Edinburgh is the only ever present, since Season 1, alongside Nottingham.
