Chats with Tats - Jeff Madsen

Bracelet winner Jeff Madsen tells CalvinAyre.com’s Tatjana Pasalic how it feels like to be a cat dad.

Jeff Madsen is busy learning the ropes of becoming a father. To a cat.

The poker pro recently got a new kitten, and he said his new responsibility is keeping him on his toes.

“It’s good to have responsibility. As you know, poker players, usually in our lives, we don’t always have the most responsibility. You can kind of get away with just screwing up more, but it’s good to kind of like, walk me down a little bit to being responsibility,” Madsen told CalvinAyre.com.

Madsen is no stranger to the glitzy and fun lifestyle of professional players. The 30-year-old admitted that he’s had held several parties in his house.

“I’ve had a couple of parties. We party a lot but take days off and get enough sleep, like five hours, occasionally a little bit less,” he noted.

However, nobody can blame Madsen for celebrating. After all, the poker pro had just walked away this summer with his fourth World Series of Poker bracelet.

“It feels good. I mean, I won a couple of years ago, but you know, I needed it,” he said. “I think I was going through the worst run of my career last six months, so usually when that happens I end up like getting a chip lead and doing well in the tournament.”

And being a new cat dad is, of course, also a reason to celebrate.

“My little baby,” Madsen said.
