Alligator Blood, the poker book written by James Leighton about the rise and fall of Daniel Tzvetkoff and the events that led to Black Friday, is being adapted for the big screen.
Leighton told PokerNews that he’d accepted an offer for the book’s movie rights made by director Robert Luketic (known for his work on 21, Legally Blonde, and the Ugly Truth). Leighton’s agent is still in the process of fine-tuning the contract but the script has already been written. Luketic has a history of being behind the camera for gambling-related movies, which should serve him well in translating the story of Alligator Blood to the big screen.
Like everybody else who has read the book – our very own Lee Davy made an incredible review of it last year – we’re all going to be really interested in how the adaptation paints the principal players in the book, specifically Tzvetkoff, the man largely responsible for setting into the motion the events that led to Black Friday.
