London conference week is comprised of ICE Totally Gaming and the London Affiliate Conference plus all the evening events that surround them. In fact, there are a good number of people who travel to London just to attend the parties that surround these conferences.
It’s a bold move to try and hit all of these parties hard, so please proceed with caution – here is the full schedule and a description of what you can expect at each party so you can choose wisely…even though you will probably just go to them all.
London Baby! @ The Folly Bar: Tuesday, February 4
Hosted by iGaming Business, the iGaming Super Show and the Sports Betting Community, this party is the premier networking event during London conference week. Yes, it will pretty much be a room full of people (mostly men) but will be full of good people that you should be networking with.
The hosts have done a fantastic job bringing oniForium, EveryMatrix, Realex Payments, Ali Quantum, Ukash, Mkodo, Oddslife, Ukash, Betconstruct and PayFrex as sponsors to date, so drinks and appies should be flowing freely for a good part of the evening.
“My team have worked hard to find a suitable and welcoming venue, in which 1000 + igamers can socialize and network comfortably. I would like to thank all the event sponsors for participating, without them this event would not be possible. I really think this is going to be our best event ever”, organizer RasmusSoejmark shared.
Tip: arrive early.
Fire & Ice @ Troxy: Wednesday, February 5
Now in its 13th year, this party is the biggest and best in London, with so much quality entertainment that you won’t even notice the lack of women in iGaming.
“This year’s Fire & Ice theme is “Pantheon”, promising a night of mythological wonder and Grecian decadence. Our Guest list of iGaming executives are invited to revel in luxury while the myths of the ancient world are played out on stage,” commented Jodie Thind, co-organizer.
General admission entry is available, with priority given to table and sponsor guests. There’s a long list of sponsors including Bally Interactive, Dafabet, Playn’GO, Affiliate REPUBLIK, Gamesys, Income Acccess, Openlot, Williams Interactive and many more.
Can’t wait to see Michael Caselli’s outfit for this one.
LAC Opening Party @ Ministry of Sound: Thursday, February 6
This year’s LAC opening party is more than just a party…iGaming Business has invited three guest affiliate DJ’s to spin the night away at one of London’s hottest club venues, Ministry of Sound. The evening’s DJs will includeHawkie from Europeansoccerstatistics.com, Marina & Bar from Lordbingo.co.uk and Bingobonus.co.uk and Michael Fancher from Vegasfever Affiliates.
Hawkie told CalvinAyre.com, “I will combine the hits starting from 2001 till 2013, thus the party is going to be a walk down memory lane with electro beats and trance mixed with Metallica hits and many more anthems that will create an awesome atmosphere which revolves around gaming. The title I’ve given for this event is ‘The official funk of gaming’”.
Mojo Feast @ Secret Location TBA, Friday, February 7
LAC delegates will need an invite to this party from Mojo Affiliates and here’s how to get one: affiliates must email [email protected] with their number one reason as to why they want to attend.
Mojo Affiliates- yes, the same program that leaves those naughty posters on the bathroom walls- have decided to keep the location and party theme top secret this time, with clues and teasers to be leaked on their Facebook and Twitter. Mojo promises that that their guests will be “surprised and delighted” so get yourself signed up if you’re not already attending the iGB Affiliate Awards that nightßlink to my article.
LAC Closing Party @ Hippodrome: Saturday, February 8
The 24/7 Hippodrome Casino is located in London’s Leicester Square, a bustling area full of bars, street performers, restaurants and theaters, smack in the middle of the city. What is nice about this venue is that guests can enjoy drinks with LAC delegates and gambling at one of London’s newest casinos, a very appropriatematch for ourindustry.
Shona O’Donnel of iGaming Business told CalvinAyre.com, “After the success of last year’s party we have decided to return to the Hippodrome to close LAC, it’s a great venue in a great location. For those that want some quiet space to finalise last minute deals we can offer that and for those that want to party hard and let their hair down we can certainly offer that”.
Sunday Session @ Zetland Arms: Sunday, February 9
Kindly sponsored again by our friends at Intertops, the Sunday Session, a long standing LAC tradition, will be held at a London pub in Kensington. This party is a lot more casual than the rest, more of a say goodbye while having a pint kind of thing.
The Intertops team shared with CalvinAyre.com, “It is already tradition for Intertops and we are proud to sponsor also this year´s final networking event of LAC, the so called ‘Sunday Session’. After three days of networking, this event is a good opportunity to wrap up and chill out with relaxed beers and some poker play”.
