2012 still has three months left on the calendar, not to mention the impending doom that awaits us on December 21, but PokerStars is already looking ahead to 2013 after unveiling the tournament schedule for the 10-day PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.
The poker festival, which is set to take place from January 5 to 14 at the Atlantis resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, will feature a total of 40 top-flight poker events, luxury five-star accommodations, and the opportunity to hub nub with some of the best pros in the world today. All while doing it in the white, sandy beaches of the Caribbean.
Can’t think of a better way to ring off the new year, right?
“There is no other live 10-day event where you will find the variety and number of games that the PCA offers,” PokerStars’ Live Poker Specialist Neil Johnson said.
“It really is a unique event in terms of the amount of poker and the range of buy-in levels available, and we always try to add some new and fun variants that you won’t find anywhere else.”
In the 9 years of the PCA, the poker festival has lived up to the hype its generating, hosting some of the most feverish and action packed tournaments in the world. It’s hosted over 20,000 poker pros, given out over $100 million in prize money, and have seen the likes of Gus Hansen, Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier and, most recently, 43–year old amateur John Dibella, all win the PCA Main Event.
This year, the PCA’s schedule is chalk-full of events, including a host of NLHE events from $1,000, a $1,000 NLHE multi-flight re-entry event, a couple of $5,000 NLHE events, a $100,000 Super High Rollers event, and of course, the $10,000 Main Event. This year also sees the return of old favorites – the NLHE ‘Win the Button’ and ‘Ante Only’ tournaments – and the addition of the first ever $1,000 ZOOM Mobile Challenge.
“If you were to imagine what the ultimate home poker game would look like, it would probably involve all your poker friends, an amazing location, non-stop poker action, top celebrities and poker pros, and the biggest variety of games and buy-in levels you could fit in,” David Carrion, the Director of Live Operations for PCA and Latam, said.
“That’s exactly what we have in mind when we plan the PCA, and the 2013 10th anniversary PCA will be the most amazing poker party on the planet.”
