Genting lone bidder for gaming license

AqueductAfter a triple threat match between the three remaining bidders for the Aqueduct gaming contract one group is left standing, Genting New York. A unit of the company who run Malaysia’s only casino, they will have to pay a $300million up-front licensing fee which will see them as the only company allowed to operate any type of gaming within New York City’s limits. Couldn’t more states do with a $300million licensing fee though? Governor Paterson, complete with Burger King crown awarded to him by Queen Elizabeth during her visit this week, will make the final decision on the Aqueduct deal. Read more.
