Wagering on multi-player video games coming to net?

While there’s no shortage of opportunities for online gamers to engage in multi-player tournaments (XBox Live, Wii Online, etc.), no one so far has instituted the ability to wager on the outcomes of those contests. Enter Titan Gaming, the brainchild of Francisco Diaz-Mitoma, a software developer/entrepreneur who thinks video game play is as skill-based as snooker, backgammon or any of the other games on which people already wager online. (So, fuck you, Switzerland!) Diaz-Mitoma claims that Titan will start offering betting on games within weeks, but for the moment he’s (multi)playing coy on which gaming platforms his company would be partnering with. Read more.
