The legalization and regulation, or not, of online gambling is approaching itchy bum time and there are conflicting views among pokerati as to which way the coin is going to flip. Some believe that Sen Harry Reid will win the day for the offline casino groups and the UIGEA will be imposed on June 1st, just to drive Full Tilt and PokerStars out of the marketplace and into the hands of the Feds. A new law will then come in legalizing poker for everyone else and pave the way for Harrah’s Entertainment Inc, the Sands and MGM/Mirage and then the European operators to help themselves. But that all depends on whether Barney Frank and Jim McDermott get their way, repeal the UIGEA get online gambling legalized and regulated for all. Only time will tell. Read more.
