Ahh, Sveeden, my favorite country on earth. Official CalvinAyre.com coverage of 2nd Annual Scandinavian i-Gaming Forum, taking place April 12-14 at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm, serves as my excuse for traveling to Sveeden this time around. This conference, however, is pretty different than the rest of the igaming industry conferences that I usually attend and cover…why? First of all, the i-Gaming Forum attracts and invites an audience and speaker line up of European high level execs, operators and lawyers- go ahead and download the brochure and see for yourself- CEO, CEO, CEO, Partner, Head Analyst, Managing Director, Founder- unbelievable.
I am also quite impressed with the conference session topics, all very high level and interesting, a bit different than the affiliate shows which tend to focus more on networking events, for example. The organizers of this conference promise that the panels and workshops will deliver insight on legal developments, marketing strategies, cost cutting tactics and 2010 predictions all within the Scandinavian market, and all very topical. Some panels of note include the CEO panel, the Debate on Monopolies, D-Day in France and Looking into the Crystal Ball, and in between these panels, look for the networking breaks which will be full of very high profile people. I also hear that a closed door lunch with representatives from the Scandinavian monopolies will be taking place, meaning no media allowed (ahem, me), and a CEO luncheon will be arranged as well.
In addition to all the informational sessions packed with very important people, the i-Gaming Forum has organized a welcome cocktail reception during pre-registration on the 12th and a very exclusive evening for all attendees on Tuesday the 13th. Now this is where the real fun begins, my friends. The entire Café Opera venue has been secured for our exclusive use beginning with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner, a poker tournament, wine-induced networking, an excellent DJ, and more drinks. Talk about my heaven on earth…trapped in a nice club full of Swedish vodka, powerful Scandinavian industry men and poker players alllll night long. Yesss! Såja Sveeden.
