Not so long ago we wrote a piece about how ‘internet cafes’ are mysteriously springing up in Colombus, Ohio. Well it looks as though a similar scenario is emerging in Cyprus, except in Cyprus they clearly can’t be arsed to get creative and call them anything other than online gambling shops – which are illegal. The government is about to shut them all down – but then they’ll just face a massive lawsuit and drive the online gambling market underground. It’s all very tiresome. It’s like getting in a time machine and travelling back to Italy ten years ago. And nowadays the Italians are coining it in from legalized, regulated gambling. Get with the programme Cyprus.
