McDermott calls for gambling tax for foster kids

Congressman Jim McDermott will introduce legislation today to tax online gambling and send the proceeds to foster care. McDermott’s bill would also give 6% of online gaming taxes earned within Washington’s borders to state and tribal governments. “I wanted to help out foster kids,” said McDermott, in a rare example of a politician talking sense. “I have watched them always get the short end of the stick.” Read more.
