After acquiring a taste for the lottery, Iowa has now set the wheels in motion to allow sports betting.
As things stand Delaware, Montana, Nevada and Oregon are the only states allowed to offer sportsbetting in any form in the US – which hardly seems fair.
This position is quite rightly being challenged at Federal level by New Jersey as discriminatory and now Iowa has put two individual measures before local legislators.
In the words of Iowa State Senate President Jack Kibbie: “I think we ought to have sportsbetting in Iowa. They’re probably betting on them anyway but we’re not getting any tax.” Read more.
