Fostering good intentions
Congressman Jim McDermott will introduce legislation today to tax online gambling and send the proceeds to foster care. McDermott’s bill would also give 6% of online gaming taxes earned within Washington’s borders to state and tribal governments. “I wanted to help out foster kids,” said McDermott, in a rare example of a politician talking sense. “I have watched them always get the short end of the stick.”
