Gambling is a loser, raise taxes

There are many arguments flying backwards and forwards for and against the legalization and regulation of poker in the US, but this one takes the biscuit.

The Inside Bay Area website reckons California will actually lose money if online gambling were permitted. The line: ‘Even if we thought that an expansion of legalized gambling was a good way to raise state revenues — which we do not — this ill-considered idea would not pass muster,’ sums these guys up.

Perhaps a 50% increase in taxes will make them think again.
