I honestly think it is better to be a failure at something you love
than to be a success at something you hate.

The Story

The Northern Territory Racing Commission (NTRC) has ordered online sports betting operators holding NTRC licenses to stop accepting wagers involving cryptocurrencies.

Fiat money only.

The directive of the NTRC came a week after Neds launched Australia’s first Bitcoin-based betting platform. The site accepted deposits and paid out winnings in BTC, but didn’t allow customers to convert their BTC balance to fiat currency. It has since become offline.

The regulatory body’s tough stance is in stark contrast to some policies made by other major gambling markets. For one, the UK Gambling Commission allows its licensees to transact in digital currencies as long as they observe their anti-money laundering and social responsibility obligations.
