The Ayre Index: Measuring Youth AI Readiness Across the Commonwealth

The Ayre Index is a landmark study by the Ayre Think Tank, providing the first comprehensive assessment of youth AI readiness across all 56 Commonwealth nations. Drawing on over 1,100 research sources, it examines how prepared 732 million young people are to benefit from the opportunities of artificial intelligence. With only 15 countries meeting its readiness benchmark, the research highlights a growing risk of digital and economic inequality. More than a ranking, the Ayre Index is a call to action—helping governments, educators and policymakers identify the gaps, unlock opportunity and ensure the benefits of AI drive inclusive prosperity and human progress
