Where are we now with Gaming Legislation in Brazil?

In the lead up to BgC taking place on 26-27 June at the Tivoli Mofarrej, Sao Paulo, Clarion Events interviewed speaker, Federal Deputy Heculano Passos, Chamber of Deputies, who spoke about the potential of the gaming market in Brazil and outlines some of the benefits for investors, as well as other sectors if gaming is legalised.

Deputy Herculano Passos had this to say:

"According to data from the Institute of Legal Gaming (Instituto Jogo Legal), the potential of the gaming Market is 1% of the country's GDP (Gross domestic product), depending on population characteristics and betting culture. In 2016, Brazil GDP was R$ 6,3 trillion (US$ 2 trillion), so, the potential of annual market would be R$ 63 billion (US$ 20 billion)....."
