Spread betting firm CMC Markets is transferring its Irish business from Dublin to the London company headquarters. The tactical move will mean all operations in one central location and chief executive Doug Richards admitted it makes sense as “half the workload is already serviced from the UK.” In addition, they’ll be changing five managerial roles with Richards stating it’s an “ordinary course of business.” CMC is expected to move back into profit this financial year and it comes at an uncertain time for spread betting firms following the collapse of WorldSpreads.
Isle of Man based Webis Holdings are looking for a new finance director after Damon Waddington resigned. As of April 20 he’ll be off to “pursue a new opportunity.” His position will be filled by financial controller Chris Allen plus “other directors,” with Denham Eke, chairman, adding: “I would like to thank Damon for his valuable contribution over the last six years and wish him well for the future.”
