The Story
MGM Resorts refuses to back down from its fight to stop the planned casino venture of the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan tribes in Connecticut. The casino giant filed a lawsuit accusing U.S. Interior Department and its Bureau of Indian Affairs of violating federal rules in approving the proposed Tribal Winds casino in East Windsor, Connecticut. The tribes wanted to have a slice of the gambling money that are going to MGM Springfield just over the Massachusetts border. MGM’s legal challenge is another hurdle that the tribes need to overcome after getting the go-signal from the BAI to proceed with the project last March.
