The iGaming industry version of the “Thriller in Manila” takes place for the sixth time on March 31and April 1 in the capital of the Philippines next year. Asia’s GEM-Gaming and Entertainment plus Leisure Expo Manila 2011 takes place at the city’s SMX Convention Centre and this year will be themed with the title “Moving Forward: Towards New Frontiers in Global Gaming and Tourism.”

Attendance has grown every year since its inauguration back in 2006, this year likely to be no different. This year’s theme was chosen to address issues both across the continent of Asia and internationally that could improve the global gaming and entertainment sectors in order that it enjoys a successful future.

The tablog will of course be doing what they do best, because that’s what the site does. We cover conferences in our own unique style and make sure there’s enough eye candy on offer to satisfy even the most acquired of tastes.

In terms of how the event itself kicks off, the usual welcome/networking party that we’ve come to be familiar with is lacking. Step forward a sport using clubs and balls. One generally associated with beating your opponent but also having a bloody good time whilst doing it. Taking place two days before the event itself gets underway on March 30th, we’re talking about the invitational golf tournament that gives delegates a chance to mingle and get to know each other.

After a long hard day’s golf, it will time to retire to the 19th hole and a well-earned scotch. The following day sees the commencement of the Gaming Tourism and Investments Congress. Authorities in the world of gaming, entertainment and tourism will use this as an opportunity to discuss and tackle different factors that can either affect or improve gaming tourism.

The end of the congress sees the Summit of Leaders, which again gives everyone attending a valuable networking opportunity. A welcome dinner is on offer for all delegates at the conclusion of the day, which is sure to include plenty of plush food and groundbreaking entertainment. If you have any more energy, move onto the bars. If not – ready yourself for the start of the conference proper the next morning.

As a grand opening, it will be a surprise to all as to who will actually be conducting this ceremony and what the final two days have in store for the attendees. Amongst the showcases will be the best in high-tech gaming machines, the innovative services that the industry has to offer, and newest tourism developments and investments.

Asian GEM’s success comes because it gets all the established industry forces together in one place and gives them a unique canvas to share ideas on the future of the industry. Every year sees an active and encouraging group of delegates who are always striving to do their best for the industry.
