Genting UK – one of the UK’s leading casino groups – has announced the dates for its 2020 GentingBet Poker Series. This sees the addition of a third-tier competition, Super 80, that will make the tournament more accessible to players.

Now in its ninth year, the popular series will feature 16 events across the county, including four main events and 13 Mini events, which are open to players of all abilities and no qualification is required.

The Main events will be played at Luton, Edinburgh Fountain Park, Liverpool Queen Square and Resorts World Casino Birmingham. There is a guaranteed prize pool of £100,000 at each Main event. The Mini events will be played at locations including Newcastle, Westcliff, Sheffield, Blackpool, Queen Square Liverpool, Reading, Luton and Torquay and will see players compete for a guaranteed prize pool of £35,000 and nine Genting Poker Series Main event seats.

Each event will take place over consecutive days, and with over 3,700 entries in 2019, people are again expected to travel from far and wide to try their luck at the poker table.

This year the series has expanded, with Genting UK introducing a third-tier competition. The Super 80 will have four Day ones running from Wednesday to Saturday, with play to finish on Sunday. The competition costs £80 to enter with a guaranteed prize pool of £15,000, a significantly higher guarantee than most games run in Genting casinos. These events operate with a 25,000 starting stack and run on a thirty-minute GentingBet Poker Series structure.

The event will make its debut at Genting Casino Stoke in February with events played at casinos in Blackpool, Reading, Sheffield, Westcliff and Newcastle.

The starting stack for all GentingBet Main events has increased to 30,000 chips which will lead to some small changes to the blind levels on the tournament structure.

Following the success of 2019, the 2020 Main events will have an additional Day one which will run on a 60-minute clock and there will be four Day ones at each Main event. This means the Main events are much more accessible to people who are working.

In addition to the prize pools on offer, all players of the GentingBet Poker Series Main events will be entered into a prize draw to win a dream holiday worth £10,000.

The annual poker series has been renamed the GentingBet Poker Series as Genting looks to align its online and offline businesses.

Kevin Proctor, Poker Operations Manager for Genting UK, said: “The GentingBet Poker Series continues to go from strength to strength with thousands of poker players, new and old, taking part in our Main and Mini events all over the country. We committed to providing our customers with the very best in casino experience and we are excited to announce the addition of the Super 80 to our series of events.

“The year we are returning to the South West of England with our events in Plymouth and Torquay. This area of the UK has been without a major poker event for too long and it is great to be able to return.”
