Just about a year ago, Kindred Group and Scientific Games (SG) tied the knot. It wasn’t an exclusive marriage – each has its other partners, as well – but it was a powerful union that would give Kindred the ability to gain a lot of worthwhile connections. Now, the company has now used the marriage to launch two platforms in New Jersey to strengthen its online gaming presence in the kindred-turns-on-the-lights-in-new-jersey-with-sg-technologyGarden State market.

Kindred’s Open Gaming System (OGS) and Open Platform System (OPS), both based on SG technology, are now operational in New Jersey. The launch comes via the company’s connection with SG subsidiary SG Digital, which promised to introduce the two to the state when they got together in August of last year. OGS is SG Digital’s response to the need for game aggregation technology and OPS is a player account management platform.

The marriage is only legal in New Jersey currently, but the two partners hope to be able to receive additional support in other states as gambling continues to spread across the U.S.. Kindred has been active in New Jersey only since this past June, thanks to another marriage, this one with Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City.

SG Digital’s Senior VP of Casino and Platforms, Dylan Stanley, thanks Kindred for helping it with its New Jersey expansion, saying that the company is set on bringing “the world’s best content and platform technology to one of the industry’s biggest names, fueling their success in both established markets and burgeoning spaces like New Jersey.” That expansion has been possible, in part, because of Kindred’s involvement.

Kindred is enjoying the partnership, as well, and the company’s SVP USA, Manuel Stan, has asserted that the connection between the two companies was a “big win” for Kindred. The online gaming operator is ready to roll out its services to other states and is also interested in getting involved in the sports gambling market in New Jersey and beyond as quickly as possible.

Among those expansion plans is included Pennsylvania. It has teamed up with Mohegan Sun Pocono to operate an online gaming solution for that venue and is making the final preparations to go live as soon as all the pieces are in place.
