Unibet sponsor Astralis; Unibet Online Series IV on the horizon

Two stories from the land of Unibet including a hook up with the Danish Counter-Strike Global Offensive stars, Astralis, and news of the upcoming Unibet Online Series IV.

Unibet sponsor Astralis; Unibet Online Series IV on the horizonUnibet has become the ‘Official Betting Partner’ of the Danish Esports organisation, Astralis.

Kindred’s little bumblebee has been sniffing around the petals of Esports for quite some time now, with an Esports Battle Royale a mainstay at the Unibet Open live events, and during Unibet Dublin, recently, Alan “hotted89” Widmann took down his first live poker tournament when he beat 72-entrants to win a €110 Hyper-Turbo.

But this deal is different gravy.

Astralis is the top Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) side in the world, winning seven competitions, and $2m in prize money in 2018. The Danes have won more than $4m since the team formed in 2016.

Rhodri Darch, Chief Commercial Officer at Kindred Group, called Astralis an Esports Powerhouse, and he’s not wrong. The industry also recognised this fact when they named Astralis the Esports Team of the Year at the Esports Industry Awards in London.

Astralis is a subsidiary of RFRSH Entertainment, an Esports media and production company, that runs the BLAST Pro Series, who recently received €10.5m in funding led by the venture capitalists Creandum and Sunstone and the Danish Growth Fund.

Unibet join the likes of Jack and Jones, Turtle Beach and Audi as sponsors of Astralis.
