Slovenia’s Perla Casino & Hotel hosts €1M poker tournament

February will be a good month for those looking to score big in tournament action with events in Canada, the Czech Republic and England all set to offer monster pots to the winners. One other tournament with a nice prize package is the Premier Event at the Perla Casino & Hotel in Nova Gorica, Slovenia. It’s anticipated to be one of the largest live poker tournaments in the region.

Partypoker hosted four satellite tournaments to win a seat for the tournament, but a direct buy-in can be made for €700. The Main Event will be held on February 13, with the winner taking home a minimum of €300,000.

Day 1A action kicked off on February 5. It will continue until February 8, when the Day 1A Main Event will be held. February 9 will see Main Events for Day 1B and 1C, followed by Day 1D and Day 1E Main Events on February 10. On February 11, the Day 2A and Day 2B Main Events will take place, leading to the Day 3 Main Event ‘Road to the Main Event’ tournament on February 12.

Partypoker offered four satellite tournaments for a chance to win entry into the event. Three of the $50 buy-in satellites were held the last week of January, with the fourth taking place on February 4. The winners of the satellites were all awarded one Premier Million Main Event entry, giving them a seat in Day 1A action of the tournament.

There’s another option for those that can’t make the Perla tournament. A little to the north, at King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, partypoker is also working another poker festival. It runs February 8-18 at the home of the 2017 WSOPE tournament. The festival boasts of several tournaments at the popular venue, including some high roller tournaments. The Super High Roller €51,000 buy-in tournament will take place February 12-13 and has a guaranteed prize pool of €1 million. The €5,300 Main Event runs February 14 – 18, and has a prize pool of €5 million.
