CEEGC 2017 announces the moderators of the Eastern and Central European panel (Rita McClelland and Mihnea Popescu-Grisogono)

26 July 2017, Budapest: To put it in the words of Zoltan “Hawkie” Tundik, Founder and Head of Business at EEGMedia/EEGEvents, organizers of CEEGC Budapest:

“Central and Eastern European Gaming Conference is all about close industry friendships and business relationships, which bond together all attending delegates, speakers and moderators. We would like to think that we are building a large igaming family at all our organized events. Such is the case of the announced moderator who have also been present at the inaugural edition last year.”

CEEGC2017 is going all in and beside the innovation talks and cryptocurrency dedicated panel is strengthening the contents of the Eastern and Central European panels.

“The growth of regulated markets in the Eastern European region panel” has been designed to bring the latest information about the newly adopted regulatory updates in the Eastern European markets and we do believe the importance of the panel is vital.

The panel is specially designed to bring together the key people of the online gambling industry and the year 2017 is an important year for the gambling industry in Eastern Europe, where the already “mature” markets such as Romania are looking how they can consolidate their presence and attract more operators, while newly regulated markets such as Czech Republic, Slovakia and Ukraine are learning from the mistakes others have made.

The Eastern European panel, which is titled as “The growth of regulated markets in the Eastern European region” and scheduled to be held between 11:00 – 12:00 (Budapest Local Time) on the 19th of September (Day 1) during the second edition of the Central and Eastern European Gaming Conference Budapest. (you can view the full agenda here)

The panel will stress on the following markets:

Recent updates and future plans of the Romanian Gambling market – Dan Iliovici (Romanian National Office of Gambling)

Dissecting the Czech Republic’s regulatory framework – Dr. Robert Skalina (WH Partners)

Slovakia, regulated market for online gambling – Dr. Robert Skalina (WH Partners)

Current state of Czech Republic – Jan Rehola (PS Legal)

Ukraine regulation on the horizon, the plans to regulating the market by European guidelines – Iryna Sergienko (UGIA)

Thus, for such an important panel, the organizers need an expert who has dealt with the regulatory updates on the region, and that moderator is none other than, Rita McClelland (GamblingCompliance)

Rita specialises in researching and creating content regarding gambling regulatory frameworks and developments relevant to the gambling industry, focusing in particular on jurisdictions in central, eastern and southeastern Europe.

Rita obtained her qualification as the Doctor of Laws in Budapest, Hungary.

The second most important panel of the conference will focus on the current status of the online gambling industry in Central Europe, which in the recent years have been the subject of political debates.

The regulations of the Central European gambling markets haven’t seen any evolution and despite the political agendas there have been really small movements. The business have started moving away from these markets and even if their office are based in the region, they were obligated to outsource because of regulations.

The Central European panel, which is titled as “Where is the Central European gambling industry heading?” is scheduled to be held between 14:00 – 15:30 (Budapest Local Time) on the 19th of September (Day 1) during the second edition of the Central and Eastern European Gaming Conference Budapest. (you can view the full agenda here)

The panel will stress on the following markets:

Hungary on the verge to regulate the online gambling market – Gabor Helembai (Bird & Bird)
Austria’s online gambling market is suffering – (Speaker TBA)
Slovenia’s gambling market among the most stable markets – Jaka Repansek (Republis)
Switzerland as a possible investment for online gambling operators – (Speaker TBA)

The moderator of the panel is none other than, Mihnea Paul Popescu-Grisogono (Casino Life and Business Magazine)

Mr. Mihnea Popescu-Grisogono is the founder and the President of Casino Life & Business Magazine, the first and the most popular gambling magazine in Romania. The magazine was two times nominated as “The Best Offline Gambling Magazine” in the world at the International Gaming Awards in London, UK and its Facebook profile has more than 12000 fans. One of the benefits of having Paul on board is that as he works in gambling media, he will be communicating with a clear understanding of the status of the markets and their recent topics/developments!
