GalaBingo.com was spreading cheer this Easter Monday (17th April) with a very special, live lottery game – featuring hatching chicken eggs.
With support and guidance from a charity farm with more than 25 years’ experience in animal care and welfare, GalaBingo.com arranged for 49 fertilised chicken eggs to be placed into a special, temperature-controlled incubator for 21 days.
From 4th-16th April, as the eggs developed, website visitors and social followers were invited to secure a free, ‘Hatch of the Day’ lottery game ticket. Entry was simple; guess which of the 49 numbered eggs would hatch first on Easter Monday, and you could win a £250 Love2Shop voucher and a chocolate hamper (worth £250). Six randomly-selected entrants would also win a chocolate basket.
In total, more than 10,000 people claimed their free lottery ticket.
The hatching process was broadcast live via the GalaBingo.com Facebook page from 10am-3:30pm on Monday 17th April. Throughout the day, it reached an audience in excess of 47,000 people, and was viewed for more than 5,600 minutes. On Facebook, page views increased by 662% (versus the previous 24-hour period).
Mr David Gaddass was revealed as the lottery winner, having correctly predicted all six numbers – 6,9,34,41,43,48.
After hatching, all the chicks were taken into the care of the 24-acre farm.
