WhichBingo Awards: New for 2016

WhichBingo Awards: New for 2016

The annual WhichBingo Awards will be back on May 19th, and this year will see some exciting changes.

WhichBingo Awards: New for 2016Taking place straight after the Online Bingo Summit, the 13th WhichBingo Awards will take place at Madame Tussauds, a new location for the event. Guests will then make their way through the ‘Film’ zone, where they will encounter stars and characters from the big screen. The evening will conclude with the main awards presentation in the World Stage Ballroom, packed with famous figures from around the world.

WhichBingo.co.uk, in partnership with the Online Bingo Summit, has also expanded the number of award categories from 10 to 14, including six new awards for the best site on each of the major software platforms.

The ‘WhichBingo Fair Play Award’, which is an expansion of the previous year’s Most Socially Responsible Operator award, is also added to recognize those sites who demonstrate the biggest commitment to fair play and responsible gambling in key areas such as:

• Responsible ticket pricing & settings.

• Fair wagering requirements & withdrawal procedures.

• Player protection & problem gambling assistance.

• Deposit limits & options for players to control their spending.

• Clear and easy to understand terms & conditions.

The award will be decided by a panel of independent experts including Ron Finlay, Chief Executive of the Senet Group and John Hagan, Chairman of GamCare.

Foxy Bingo, Paddy Power Bingo, and Wink Bingo are among the bingo operators competing for the award.

“This year’s Fair Play Award seeks to recognize and reward those top bingo operators who conduct their business in a socially responsible way – in a manner that your average online bingo player can understand and relate to.” said Wayne Howe, Head of Projects at WhichBingo.

We believe that responsible gambling should be more than just offering players spending limits and the ability to self-exclude. It should be about being fair to players; ensuring that ticket prices, game settings, withdrawal and wagering rules are fair and easy to understand and not set up to simply maximize the profits for those operators.”

Last year’s awards saw over 14,000 online bingo players vote to determine the winners of nine award categories, including the coveted Best Online Bingo Site and Best Mobile Bingo Experience. Dozens of online bingo professionals gathered for cocktails and canapés before sitting down for comedic entertainment and swift delivery of ten awards.

Places are limited and therefore priority will be given to operators who have been shortlisted for this year’s awards, followed by attendees of the 2016 Online Bingo Summit.
