BetVictor launch Chelsea-themed slot; 188Bet reunite with Wigan Warriors

betvictor-chelsea-slotGibraltar-based online gambling operator BetVictor has expanded its sponsorship of Chelsea FC by rolling out a new team-themed slot title.

BetVictor signed on as Chelsea’s global betting and gaming partner this summer and the company isn’t letting the turf grow under its feet. On Thursday, BetVictor announced what it’s claiming is the world’s first English Premier League club-branded online slot game.

The exclusive Realistic Games-developed slots title features images of some of the EPL champion club’s most recognizable players, while the soundtrack attempts to recreate the jet-engine decibel level at the club’s Stanford Bridge Stadium.

BetVictor COO Paul Louis credited both Realistic and the team for helping to create an “engaging” slots title, which Louis suggested would be joined by more exclusive Chelsea-themed products in 2016. Realistic Games commercial director Andy Harris said his company was chuffed at the reception afforded the new slots title, which he called “ a real game changer for branded slot content.”

188BET WELCOMED BACK TO WIGAN
Asian-facing online gambling operator 188Bet has signed on as the new main sponsor of the Wigan Warriors Rugby League Club. The parties are actually old friends, having hooked up for the 2010 season, during which 188Bet’s logo appeared on the shoulder of the team’s shirts.

Under the new deal, 188Bet will see its much larger logo on the front of the Warriors’ 2016 match and replica shirts, in addition to branding opportunities at DW Stadium and via the team’s digital and social media channels.

188Bet managing director Nigel Singer said his group was thrilled to once again be back in Wigan’s embrace and the opportunity for a reunion was “just too good to pass up.” Team marketing director Simon Collinson logrolled back, saying both parties were “leaders in our respective industries” who “share a common goal of further growth across the UK.”

BETWAY TRY ON A LESS BORING BRAND OF TENNIS
UK-licensed online betting operator Betway has burnished its growing tennis sponsorship portfolio by signing on as the principal sponsor of Tie Break Tens, a new format intended to appeal to those attention-deficit masses who find traditional tennis akin to reading War & Peace on the bog after a week of eating nothing but leftover turkey.

The inaugural Tie Break Tens will take place this Saturday (5) at London’s Royal Albert Hall, alongside the Champions Tennis event that closes out this year’s ATP Champions Tour. The format involves a set of single tie-breaks to 10 points in a round-robin knockout format. A six-man field consisting of past and present tennis stars, including former British number on Tim Henman, will do battle for the $250k top prize.
