My Poker Pal Put the ‘Banter’ Into Poker With the Creation of the Grand Party Festival

My Poker Pal are putting the ‘banter’ into poker, quite literally, after announcing plans to host Strip Poker, Crazy Shots, and Masked Events at their inaugural Grand Party Festival in Montenegro.

At the tail end of January I sat down with My Poker Pal founder Paul Rimmer to talk about his dreams.

My Poker Pal Put the ‘Banter’ Into Poker With the Creation of the Grand Party FestivalIt was a simple.

He wanted to put the banter back into poker.

He wasn’t kidding.

It started out as an online social community for players. It has now spread to live events. The Grand Party Festival sees My Poker Pal team up with the Russian Poker Tour (RPT), and the World Poker & Party Series (WPPS) to launch the inaugural Grand Party Festival.

The event will take place 27 March to 3 April. The organizers are promising €700,000 in guaranteed prize money, and the destination is a new one for the current crop of poker tours.

“We have decided to go to Montenegro because it’s such a beautiful place, and nobody was holding poker events there.” Rimmer told me earlier today.

And what a party it promises to be.

You are not going to see these types of events at the European Poker Tour (EPT), World Poker Tour (WPT) or World Series of Poker (WSOP): a €500 buy-in Strip Poker Event, a €400 buy-in PokerFace Masked event, and a €150 buy-in Crazy Shots Event.

Let’s hope they sort out this disparity between male and female poker players or the Strip Poker tournament is going to get a little hairy.

My Poker Pal are offering a series of packages that include buy-ins to a variety of events, and accommodation at the Queen of Montenegro. PokerDom.com are going to be offering online satellites.

“We want to place our focus on partying and enjoyment. We will have parties every day. There will be guest DJ’s, go-go dancers, special beauty pageant Miss Poker Montenegro cabaret shows, karaoke battles, entertainers, and magicians.” Said Rimmer.

It’s going to get messy.

Very messy.
