Recognition Awards Handed Out at European Poker Tour London and EPT10 Prague Schedule Unveiled

recognition-awards-european-poker-tour-londonRecognition awards have been presented to both Steve O’Dwyer and Walid Bou Habib during the European Poker Tour (EPT) stop in London, and the EPT10 Prague Festival schedule has been announced.

Steve O’Dwyer and Walid Bou Habib have both been honored for their EPT Season 9 performances after the EPT President Edgar Stuchly presented both players with awards during the festivities of EPT London this week.

The main tranche of EPT9 awards  – that were based on points systems – were doled out during EPT10 Barcelona, but the two that were awarded in London were based on a voting system.

The first award was the EPT Achievement of the Year Award and it went the way of Steve O’Dwyer. The award was voted for by members of the EPT media, who are used to writing O’Dwyer’s name in the poker news, and the votes duly flooded in after O’Dwyer secured the EPT9 Grand Final title, after three near misses at EPT London in 2011 (2nd), EPT Copenhagen in 2012 (7th) and EPT London in 2013 (5th).

“I have done so well in these EPT events, that it’s difficult to list an achievement beyond the Grand Final win,” O’Dwyer said to PokerNews sideline reporter Laura Cornelius after receiving his award.

The second award was the EPT Players’ Choice and was voted by the EPT players. This time the award went to Walid Bou Habib who cashed four times as well as a runner up spot at EPT Deauville. Bou Habib also cashed in the first event of Season 10 in Barcelona.

“I was told by some of my friends that I had won. I come from a small country and so I didn’t expect a lot of votes. I am very happy.” Said Bou Habib upon receipt of his award.
