nmi-gaming-north-america-opens-in-vancouverNMi, a household name in Gambling Compliance testing and auditing in Europe for more than 35 years, today announced the opening of a new office in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. NMi have been following a strategy of expansion for a number of years. Moves into Italy, the UK and Spain have proven very successful and the new North American office will provide additional capacity to the compliance testing company, which has its roots in the Netherlands. The opening of the office coincides with the appointment of Richard d’Souza as Managing Director of NMi Gaming North America. Richard brings with him experience working as a Senior Security Consultant for NMi following similar posts in an independent capacity and with another leading ATF.

Andrew Rosewarne, Director, NMi Gaming

We have seen increasing globalisation of the gaming industry and many of our well established customers have operations on both sides of the Atlantic. The Vancouver office will be able to offer local expertise and a convenient time zone for development teams based in the Americas.

The Vancouver area is a great location for NMi to establish a presence in North America. The combination of high quality local talent and proximity to our existing customers and major gaming markets was very attractive to us. I am looking forward to spending a lot of time here.

We are delighted to have been able to appoint Richard d’Souza to the post of Managing Director in North America. Richard has a wealth of experience working in gaming compliance in both Europe and North America and is well known to the industry. His knowledge of Information Security will bolster an already strong NMi team and allow us to continue to provide a first class service to our customers wherever they operate.

Our customers are demanding coverage of more and more jurisdictions so we are lucky to have the resources of the NMi group behind us to allow us to invest in this type of expansion. We are continuing to grow in a controlled way with new business arriving every week, and we have an amazing rate of customer retention, which demonstrates that our customers really appreciate the way we operate. We are confident that if we extend the customer experience here the trend will continue in North America and Richard and his team will grow in the same way as our other operations.

Richard D’souza, Managing Director, NMi Gaming North America

It was the customer service ethos of NMi that persuaded me to accept this challenging post. Having worked with NMi in Europe for a number of years I have been impressed with the way they put the customer’s needs first and the emphasis they put on communication.

There is an appetite for more choice in the North American compliance market and having a high quality, well established brand like NMi enter the market will certainly offer customers another option.

What makes NMi unique in the market is that it is not just a gaming lab. The NMi group offers assurance to governments and blue chip companies acrossthe world, from ensuring petrol pumps and taxi meters are accurate, certifying controlled manufacturing processes, and calibration and certification of industrial scale oil and gas metering systems. The skills of their gaming team are second to none, but they are also part of something much bigger, with the additional assurance that provides to regulators and customers.

Vancouver is my home town and I am personally looking forward to the challenge of building something special here.

Arjan van Breukelen, Managing Director, NMi

The opening of NMi Gaming North America is confirmation of NMi’s commitment to the gaming industry. The confidence NMi provides to regulators and consumers in the gaming sector is typical of what we offer in all the industries in which we operate. North America is a growth area in the gaming and i-gaming sectors, and with the opening of this office NMi is perfectly positioned to play a significant role as the market evolves.
