According to the PGCB, gross table games revenue in the state totaled $55,348,241, 2.1 percent lower than its 2012 numbers when it earned a gross table revenue of $56,556,939. Of that number from February 2013, tax revenue for the month reached $7,987,252. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board did note that circumstances last year, including an extra day stemming from the leap year, could have played a part in this year’s gross revenue numbers falling from its 2012 figures. On the flip side, the state had more casinos operating this year than last year, with 11 casinos operating an average of 1,049 tables on the gaming floor in February 2013 compared to the 10 casinos in operation with 977 tables on the gaming floor.
Of the 11 casinos in operation for February 2013, the biggest earner in terms of gross table games revenue was the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem with $12,060,001 in gross revenue. The Parx Casino came in second at $8,200,728, followed by the SugarHouse Casino with $7,344,329 in gross table revenue. Harrah’s Chester Casino and Racetrack earned $6,877,655 for the month while Rivers Casino wasn’t too far behind with $5,947,964.
Making up the rest of the list are the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs ($3,290,560), the Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course ($2,988,971), the Mount Airy Casino Resort ($2,985,441), Valley Forge Casino Resort ($2,442,877), the Meadows Racetrack and Casino ($1,941,422), and the Presque Isle Downs and Casino ($1,268,293).
Taken together with gross revenue from slot machines, the state’s $251,293,452 in revenue for this year dropped 7.7 percent compared to the $271,244,678 the state earned last year.
