British Poker Awards Site Goes Live

british poker awards 20129 AUGUST 2012 (LONDON, UK) Organisers of The British Poker Awards have announced that the nominees have been chosen for the forthcoming awards ceremony to honour the best in UK poker, and once again it’s now down to public vote. Voting is now live at www.thebritishpokerawards.com, where the public can get behind their favourite nominees in 11 categories, including “Beat Cash Player”, “Best Tournament Player”, “Best Online Player”, “Best Poker League”, “Best Poker Forum” and “Poker Personality of the Year”.

Nominees were decided by a committee of industry experts, including representatives from Bluff Europe, PokerNews.com, Poker Strategy.com, as well as “The Voice of Poker” himself, Jesse May. The ceremony itself will be held on 17th September 2012 on board the HMS President, moored on the Victoria Embankment on the Thames. Tickets are available at www.thebritishpokerawards.eventbrite.co.uk for £20.

“It’s been a great year for British Poker, with lots of really young guys coming through and established guys, like Sam Trickett, cementing themselves as worldwide superstars of the game,” said organiser Michael Caselli. “The British Poker Awards is part of the wider London Poker Festival which is all about celebrating the game in this country, so it’s only natural that the poker community itself should decide who gets the awards.”
