Gaming Edge Associates appoint two; Zynga poach sales VP; Tatts CEO search underway

gaming edgeTwo experienced senior gaming industry associates have joined Gaming Edge Associates. According to eGR, Kathryn Loewen, previously of Merge Gaming and Cereus, and Rob Gallo, former CEO with 15 years experience in operating and marketing online gambling firms, join the business as it looks to expand further in the U.S. market. Ben Fried, partner and founder of Gaming Edge, said: “Kathryn and Rob compliment Gaming Edge immensely with their wealth of knowledge of the US market, with Kathryn bringing her expertise in online payment processing and with Rob bringing his board level experience in developing and managing successful eGaming businesses”.

Social gaming firm Zynga has appointed a new VP of North American sales. Julie Shumaker arrives from fellow social gaming firm RockYou and takes on the job vacated by Manny Anekal. Shumaker has plenty of sales experience having worked for a number of notable firms including Electronic Arts (EA). It comes as Zynga is looking to expand into the online gambling industry and is looking for a partner to help them do so. Whether they’re on to a Wynner or not remains to be seen.

Australian firm Tatts Group is searching for a new CEO after incumbent Dick McIlwain announced he’d be departing by the end of the year. Harry Boon confirmed in a statement: “The process is underway and will include internal candidates as well as external candidates.

“The search has been timed to allow for minimum disruption to the business as well as an orderly transition towards the end of the year.”

Tatts recently completed the purchase of TOTE Tasmania with most people choosing to focus on their job cutting measures.
