Bodog make new appointment; Microgaming sign CIRSA deal

Bodog BrandBodog Europe’s recruitment drive is continuing unabated as they announce their latest member of the team. News that Peter Woodfine has joined the Bodog team as their new Director of Business and Development means there’s no sign of that stopping any time soon.

Peter’s new position will see him responsible for managing existing relationships and sourcing new business opportunities, he said: “There are few brands that embrace digital media and like to experiment with new ideas as much as Bodog and for Business Development that is really attractive.

“In such a competitive space being conventional is rarely an option and Bodog agrees which makes this role a perfect fit for me.”

With over 10 years experience in the role, having held positions with lastminute.com, Channel 4, Endemol and, most recently, Sportingbet, Peter will also assist with the growth of the Bodog brand and product offerings in all its key markets.

A Bodog spokesperson commented: “At the very core of the Bodog brand is a desire to experiment and actively search for opportunities rather than let them come to us.

“Anybody in marketing with a decent budget will be inundated with offers but as a result, you can be sure your competitors are receiving the same opportunities.

“We want to go out there and find that key event or platform or idea that will set us apart from others and Peter has a great range of experience that can help us seek out more of these unique opportunities.”

Bodog’s news arrives alongside an announcement by the world’s biggest provider of online gaming software, Microgaming, who has signed a new deal with casino operator, CIRSA.

As a household name for gaming in the Spanish-speaking market, CIRSA apparently secured Microgaming as their B2B partner due to the company’s global reputation for high quality online gaming content. A spokesperson for CIRSA said: “When looking for a software provider, Microgaming’s experience was a very attractive proposition. The ability to offer Microgaming content to our players is also hugely appealing as their innovative software is unparalleled within the industry.

“We are delighted our players will be able to enjoy the world’s most popular and exciting games and look forward to a long and happy working relationship.”

Microgaming will provide CIRSA with Poker, Casino and Bingo software and access to a suite of premium games and services. Their CEO, Roger Raatgever, said: “We are thrilled to be working with a CIRSA, a well known name within the gaming industry.

“Microgaming has developed a wealth of experience over the past 15 years and we are looking forward to playing our part in making CIRSA the complete one-stop shop in gaming entertainment.”
