Sky Bet has become the latest firm to release a specialist iPhone app coinciding with the start of the Premier League this weekend. The app, developed in conjunction with Swedish mobile gambling industry specialists Mobenga, allowed mobile customers to browse and place bets on over 4,000 events every week including 750 football specific events.
Sky Bet’s Sportsbook Mobile Product Manager, Ben Kamara, said: “Mobile bettors, who already constitute 25% of our customer base, will be delighted that the app is available to download ahead of the Premier League kick-off on Saturday.
“The look and feel of the app is very similar to other popular BSkyB apps, such as that of Sky Sports News and Sky Sports Live Football Score Centre. We believe that the app is easily one of the best on the market and feedback so far suggests that users agree.”
Christan Rajter, CEO of Mobenga, said, “This powerful distribution channel enables all existing and prospective punters to access Sky Bet’s great offering in the way most commonly used by the millions of iPhone and iPad users. It is also a good recognition of a reputable company such as Sky Bet to have been accepted into the App Store.”
Users of Sky Bet Mobile can also take advantage of the all new Racing UK “Bet to View” service. As part of that, iPhone and iPad customers can stream live horse racing events whilst betting on them. 550 horse racing events are available to bet on each week for just a £1 stake.
